Jesus Loves Little Children Like You

Children's church (3-6) · member guide · Anchor: Matthew 18:1-4· preview

From the sermon Great or Humble?

Story Time

One day, Jesus' friends asked Him, 'Who is the greatest in heaven?' Jesus called a little child to come sit with Him. He said, 'You must become like this child. Children need help from their mommies and daddies. You need help from God too. When you ask God for help, that makes God happy!'

Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. — Matthew 18:3-4

Let's Move!

Let's pretend to be little children who need help!

  • Reach your arms up high like you want someone to pick you up.
  • Put your hands together like you're praying and asking God for help.
  • Give yourself a big hug because Jesus loves you!

Think About It

Do you need help from your mommy or daddy every day? (Yes!)

Do you need help from Jesus every day? (Yes!)

Color and Remember

Draw a picture of Jesus with His arms open wide, ready to help you. Remember: Jesus loves it when you ask Him for help, just like a little child!
